State Farm is a large group of insurance and financial services companies through the U.S. and for more than 35 years, they have invested in academic programming, student assistance, and campus branding at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. They generously sponsor many programs through scholarships and gifts such as Masters in Statistics - MAGNet Internships, Actuarial Sciences, Office of Risk Management and Insurance Research, and many more. 

State Farm also has a Research and Development Center (RDC) that is part of the University of Illinois’ Research Park. Their areas of interest include geographic information system, information systems, risk management, actuarial sciences, and data analytics. The RDC remains the largest employer of students in Research Park and they recently hired 200 interns for the year. Student interns work directly with their department projects and are guided by the company staff. There are many student interns who work with State Farm throughout their undergraduate time and receive full time positions when they graduate.
